Job summary

This position involves working as a Student Assistant in Mechanical Design, focusing on advanced mechanical analysis within the Customer Service Sales department. The role includes collaboration with mechanical design specialists to assess the structural integrity and fatigue life of Layer Picker machines.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a mechanical engineering program or a related technical field.
  • Strong theoretical knowledge of mechanical design, strength calculations, and lifetime analyses.
  • Familiarity with FE-based design is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct structural integrity and fatigue life assessments of primary structures, including evaluations of fatigue, stress concentrations, weld integrity, and bolted connections.
  • Perform strength and lifetime calculations on mechanical components such as bearings, shafts, chains, and gears.
  • Identify obsolete parts and propose suitable replacements, determining components that require replacement before reaching their end of life.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and systematic working style with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in documentation and method development.
  • Curiosity and motivation to engage with complex industrial machinery.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
  • Knowledge of Autodesk Inventor is an advantage.

Education

  • Enrollment in a mechanical engineering or similar technical program.

Tools

  • Autodesk Inventor (preferred).
