About the role

Job summary

This position involves two distinct roles within the Power Systems Department, focusing on control and protection engineering for substations and HV/MV networks. The successful candidate will contribute to significant infrastructure projects aimed at supporting the green transition.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Strong experience in plant control systems with emphasis on closed-loop control applications.
  • Hands-on experience with STATCOM and HVDC systems, including control philosophy development and performance verification.
  • Relevant experience in design, testing, and commissioning phases.
  • Familiarity with modeling and simulation tools for control design and validation.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in additional European languages is a plus.

Responsibilities

Control Engineer

Protection Engineer

  • Develop engineering specifications for control systems in substations (30–400 kV).
  • Design and maintain control architectures, integrating RTUs, PLCs, and protection relays.
  • Implement control strategies for AC and DC systems, ensuring dynamic performance and stability.
  • Conduct testing and validation of control systems using OMICRON test equipment.
  • Perform modeling and simulation using PSCAD and MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Create specifications and settings for AC protection systems in substations (30–400 kV).
  • Develop protection philosophies and conduct coordination studies for AC and DC systems.
  • Execute protection testing and commissioning activities, including FAT and SAT.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams throughout all project phases.
