Staff Software Engineer (GRC)

Job summary

We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) Infrastructure team. This role involves hands-on development, technical leadership, and mentoring within a collaborative environment. You will be responsible for designing scalable systems and guiding engineering decisions while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Professional experience in Software Engineering, particularly in designing and maintaining scalable systems.
• Ability to define technical direction and lead architectural discussions.
• Expertise in at least one layer of the tech stack (PHP and Angular) and familiarity with software architecture.
• Experience with Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and producing reliable, performant code.
• Good engineering practices and familiarity with improving deployment and testing processes.
• Strong communication skills for providing feedback and mentorship.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex technical projects, ensuring flexibility, security, and performance of the platform.
• Own critical product components that serve as the foundation of the platform.
• Act as a technical partner during architectural discussions and assist in unblocking engineers.
• Raise engineering quality through reference implementations and evolving code standards.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Design teams to oversee technical implementations.
• Identify and drive improvements to technical debt, observability, and best practices.

Skills

• Proficiency in PHP with Laravel, Angular 21, TailwindCSS, PostgreSQL, Redis, and AWS serverless infrastructure.

Education

• Relevant degree or equivalent experience in Software Engineering or a related field.

Tools

• Familiarity with tools and practices for deployment, observability, and testing.
