Job summary

Seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join a Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) Infrastructure team. This role involves hands-on design of scalable systems, mentoring engineers, and guiding technical decisions without managerial responsibilities. The position emphasizes collaboration and continuous improvement within a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Professional experience in Software Engineering, focusing on designing and maintaining scalable systems in production.
• Ability to define technical direction and lead architectural discussions.
• Expert knowledge in at least one layer of the tech stack (PHP and Angular) and familiarity with software architecture.
• Experience with Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and producing reliable, performant code.
• Good engineering practices, particularly in deployment and observability improvements.
• Strong communication skills for providing feedback and mentorship.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex technical projects, ensuring platform flexibility, security, and performance.
• Take ownership of critical product components that form the platform's foundation.
• Act as a technical partner during architectural discussions and assist engineers in overcoming challenges.
• Enhance engineering quality through reference implementations and evolving code standards.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Design teams to oversee technical implementations.
• Identify and drive improvements to technical debt, observability, and testing practices.

Skills

• Proficiency in PHP with Laravel, Angular 21, TailwindCSS, PostgreSQL, Redis, and AWS serverless infrastructure.

Education

• Relevant degree or equivalent experience in Software Engineering or related field.

Tools

• Familiarity with PHP, Angular, and cloud infrastructure tools is essential.
