Staff People Systems Engineer (Remote, Technology)

Job summary

This role focuses on enhancing the People Technology landscape by ensuring systems are aligned and scalable, translating business needs into technical solutions, and improving integration across various platforms.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in People Tech, HRIS engineering, or technical systems roles within a People/HR context.
• Strong hands-on skills in building integrations and automations using APIs, webhooks, and scripting.
• Familiarity with HRIS platforms, preferably HiBob, and experience with cloud platforms like G Suite and GCP.

Responsibilities

• Design and build integrations, automations, and services within the People Tech stack, utilizing APIs and event-driven architecture.
• Collaborate with stakeholders in People Operations, Talent Acquisition, Payroll, and L&D to gather requirements and prioritize technical work.
• Automate core employee lifecycle processes such as onboarding, offboarding, and compensation updates.
• Ensure data quality and maintain schema standards across People systems.
• Manage incident response and troubleshooting for People systems and integrations.
• Establish engineering standards for documentation, integration patterns, and change management processes.

Skills

• Strong system thinking and ability to navigate between high-level processes and technical details.
• Proven capability to translate ambiguous needs into scoped solutions and deliver results.
• Confidence in operating autonomously and driving projects forward.

Education

• Relevant degree or equivalent experience in a technical or engineering field is preferred.

Tools

• Experience with tools such as HiBob, Ashby, Okta, and GCP, along with knowledge of AI tooling for enhancing capabilities.
