Staff Infrastructure Security Engineer (Remote, Global)

Job summary

This role involves leading infrastructure security initiatives within a Product Security Department, focusing on ensuring the security and resiliency of public cloud infrastructure components. The position requires a blend of technical leadership and hands-on execution to drive security capabilities that support DevSecOps goals.

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of cloud infrastructure security (AWS/GCP/Azure) and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Go, Python, and Ruby, with experience in delivering security tooling.
• Extensive experience with Infrastructure-as-Code security (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation) and automated compliance.
• Familiarity with security certifications and frameworks (FedRAMP, ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI-DSS).
• Strong communication skills to convey security tradeoffs to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Define architectural patterns and foundational security automation for infrastructure security implementation.
• Lead security initiatives from problem framing to delivery, managing multi-quarter projects with clear success criteria.
• Conduct security reviews and threat modeling for complex infrastructure components, driving remediation efforts.
• Establish AI-assisted security engineering practices and mentor team members in these areas.
• Collaborate on technical planning and roadmap development to align security work with business objectives.

Skills

• Strong leadership in guiding multi-team technical initiatives and setting technical direction.
• Ability to explain complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Education

• Relevant experience in security engineering or a related field is preferred, with openness to varying levels of experience.

Tools

• Familiarity with security automation tools and practices, as well as AI applications in security workflows.
