Staff AI Enablement Engineer

Job summary

The role involves leading AI enablement efforts across various departments, focusing on both application development and platform infrastructure. You will be responsible for the most challenging AI application builds and setting technical standards for the team. Additionally, you will manage the internal AI marketplace and ensure the security and governance of cross-departmental AI applications.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on complex systems at a staff level.
• Proven hands-on experience with AI technologies, including LLMs and applied machine learning.
• Strong background in distributed systems, backend platform design, and cloud architecture (preferably Azure or GCP).
• Experience mentoring senior engineers and facilitating technical education.
• Excellent communication skills, particularly in asynchronous and written formats.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of complex department AI applications and establish technical patterns for the team.
• Oversee the platform layer supporting department builds, including LLM access and evaluation frameworks.
• Manage the internal AI marketplace, ensuring security and governance as the application portfolio expands.
• Develop evaluation frameworks to maintain output quality and reliability of AI systems.
• Set engineering standards and integration patterns for AI development across teams.
• Conduct technical education and mentoring for engineers, promoting reusable patterns.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align AI capabilities with company goals.

Education

• Relevant degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
