Job summary

The role involves enhancing the developer experience within the software development lifecycle for embedded software engineers working on audio-enabled medical devices. You will focus on optimizing build processes, improving development environments, and identifying workflow bottlenecks.

Qualifications

• Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Practical experience in profiling and optimizing software development workflows.

Responsibilities

• Optimize build flows to reduce build times and friction.
• Improve development environments, including editors, debuggers, and command-line tools.
• Enhance tooling for build, test, documentation, and debugging.
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks in development workflows.
• Contribute to establishing a strong software development culture.

Skills

• Familiarity with Nix and NixOS.
• Experience with Linux subsystems and Python.
• Knowledge of build systems like Make, SCons, and GCC toolchains.
• Proficiency in Git and Gerrit.
• Understanding of Docker and Unix/POSIX programming.
• Experience with ARM microprocessor architectures and programming in C and/or Java.

Education

• Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar field.

Tools

• NixOS, Linux, Python, Docker, Git, build systems.
