Senior Software Engineer, Quality Engineering (Remote)

Job summary

As a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test on the Platform Team, you will enhance the automated and manual testing infrastructure, enabling developers to deliver new features efficiently and reliably.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) or Senior Quality Assurance Engineer.
• Proficient in strongly typed programming languages with at least 1 year of experience in Go.
• Experience in building and maintaining CI pipelines, specifically with GitHub Actions and Google Cloud Build.
• Familiarity with microservices and automated test frameworks.
• In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes, including writing Helm charts and understanding security best practices.
• Previous experience in a startup environment.
• Ability to manage tasks from inception to deployment.

Responsibilities

• Develop a comprehensive testing strategy for the API surface.
• Standardize tooling and infrastructure to improve developer experience.
• Collaborate with teams to enhance test coverage, reliability, and speed.
• Mentor product engineers to foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
• Design and execute load, stress, and scalability tests.

Skills

• Experience with Python or TypeScript is a plus.
• Knowledge of Docker, load testing tools (k6, ghz), and analyzing performance outputs.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Argo CD or Terraform, and Google Cloud Platform.
• Understanding of event-driven systems using Kafka or Redpanda.

Education

• Relevant technical degree or equivalent experience preferred.
