Senior Software Engineer (.NET)

Job summary

This role focuses on backend engineering to enhance and modernize systems within a digital platform aimed at sustainability in the shipping industry. The position involves building scalable services, migrating from legacy systems, and improving existing backend functionalities.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in C# and .NET (preferably .NET 10+), with experience in developing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Over 5 years of professional experience in software engineering, with a history of delivering web applications.
• Experience in migrating legacy systems incrementally.
• Ability to elevate team performance through collaboration and mentorship.
• Familiarity with AI tools in software development.
• DevOps knowledge, including cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, Docker, and Terraform; Kubernetes experience is a plus.
• Strong commitment to quality through unit and integration testing.
• Excellent communication skills in English, with experience in agile team collaboration across time zones.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs in C# and the .NET ecosystem, with some full-stack work in Angular as needed.
• Lead the migration from legacy systems by replacing outdated components with modern services while ensuring platform stability.
• Enhance the reliability and performance of existing backend services to ensure graceful degradation.
• Collaborate with teams to develop fuel functionality on the new platform and establish shared patterns and tools.
• Conduct code reviews and pair programming to uplift the team's overall capabilities.

Skills

• Proficient in C#, ASP.NET Core, .NET, Entity Framework.
• Familiar with Angular and TypeScript for frontend development.
• Experienced with SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases.
• Knowledgeable in AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, and GitHub Actions for cloud and DevOps practices.
• Agile and Scrum methodologies.

Education

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
