Senior Software Developer (I/O Firmware)

Job summary

An experienced Senior Software Developer is needed to focus on the development of embedded firmware solutions within a research and development organization. This role involves designing, implementing, maintaining, and validating firmware components for advanced maritime automation and navigation systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Extensive experience in embedded firmware and protocol development in complex environments
• Strong proficiency in C and C++ for embedded systems
• Experience with communication protocols and protocol stacks for embedded applications
• Understanding of microcontroller architectures and low-level drivers
• Practical experience as a SCRUM Master and familiarity with agile methodologies
• Strong debugging skills using various analytical tools
• Experience with Git-based workflows and CI/CD environments
• Excellent communication skills in English

Responsibilities

• Act as SCRUM Master, facilitating agile processes and team coordination
• Design and optimize embedded firmware for resource-constrained systems
• Develop software for microcontroller platforms including ARM Cortex-M and RISC-V
• Implement communication protocol stacks and interfaces
• Optimize firmware performance regarding latency and power consumption
• Integrate solutions with RTOS environments
• Develop and maintain automated test environments and documentation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the product lifecycle
