About the role

Job summary

This role involves contributing to the Late-Stage Process Development department, focusing on downstream process development for biological products. The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to scale processes from clinical to commercial manufacturing.

Qualifications

  • Master's or PhD in Biochemistry, (Bio)chemical Engineering, Process Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant industrial experience with a Master's or 2+ years with a PhD.
  • Proven experience in downstream process development.
  • Strong planning and reporting skills for complex studies, including statistical analysis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to complete projects successfully.
  • Coordinate development activities within your area and across multiple disciplines.
  • Design and execute complex experiments with laboratory technicians, evaluating results for clear reporting.
  • Author technical documentation such as protocols and development reports.
  • Contribute to risk assessments to support control strategy and regulatory filings.
  • Provide scientific and technical support to the business.

Skills

  • Understanding of commercial manufacturing requirements and regulatory aspects is preferred.
  • Experience with mechanistic modeling, scientific coding (e.g., Python, MATLAB), and/or liquid-handling robots (e.g., Tecan) is advantageous.

Education

  • Master's or PhD in a relevant scientific field.

Tools

  • Familiarity with statistical analysis tools and laboratory equipment relevant to downstream processing.
