Job summary

This role involves developing software infrastructure for scalable qubit bring-up routines in a quantum computing environment. The position requires collaboration with measurement teams to implement calibration and tuning routines, ensuring robust and efficient execution in both lab and quantum machine contexts.

Qualifications

  • Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, along with relevant software industry experience.
  • Experience in implementing highly concurrent systems and managing resource-aware concurrency using technologies like Python asyncio or equivalent.
  • Proven skills in Python software engineering, including familiarity with the scientific Python stack (e.g., NumPy, SciPy).
  • Experience in designing data pipelines for workflow orchestration, ensuring data quality and traceability.
  • Collaborative experience in software development, including participation in design discussions and code reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Measurement team to develop software for scalable qubit bring-up routines.
  • Create Python software for controlling and coordinating complex calibration and tuning routines.
  • Translate user stories into software requirements and propose architectural designs.
  • Build infrastructural software components to support rapid development of new routines.
  • Ensure high-quality measurement data with consistent metadata and reproducible analysis pipelines.
  • Contribute to software engineering best practices, including code reviews and testing.
  • Troubleshoot issues across software boundaries and make trade-offs between rapid development and long-term robustness.

Skills

  • Strong Python programming skills, particularly in writing maintainable and testable code.
  • Experience with debugging complex systems and addressing concurrency issues.
  • Familiarity with scientific computing libraries and data modeling approaches.

Education

  • Master's or Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.

Tools

  • Python, scientific Python libraries (NumPy, SciPy), and software development tools for CI/CD and testing.
