Senior Process Engineer (Quantum Technology, Remote)

Job summary

This role involves hands-on engineering responsibilities focused on the fabrication of quantum devices using ultra-high vacuum (UHV) processes. The Senior Process Engineer will oversee manufacturing processes, drive development work, and ensure alignment with established production protocols.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Materials Science, Engineering, or Physics, or a PhD in a related field.
• Extensive hands-on experience with UHV-based nanofabrication and process development for superconducting and/or semiconductor materials.
• Proficiency in characterization techniques for assessing material performance.
• Proven track record as a process owner for UHV deposition tools, including maintenance and qualification.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to derive insights from data.
• Excellent communication skills in English, with a collaborative mindset.
• Familiarity with AI tools for enhancing process efficiency and innovation.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate quantum devices utilizing UHV nanofabrication and deposition techniques.
• Lead process development and integrate mature processes into production workflows.
• Monitor and enhance fabrication process flows, focusing on quality and yield improvement.
• Conduct root cause analysis for device quality issues and fabrication challenges.
• Troubleshoot operational problems and assist in UHV tool maintenance planning.
