Senior Principal Solutions Specialist (Automation, Copenhagen)

Job summary

The role involves leading automation development for critical capacity projects globally, focusing on Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and the ABB 800xA system. The specialist will set global standards and best practices for application coding and hardware development in CAPEX projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher with over 8 years of technical experience.
• At least 5 years in automation for industrial applications, including both brownfield and greenfield installations.
• Willingness to travel globally for approximately 5 weeks per year.
• Strong knowledge of 800xA system and application development.
• Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
• Successful track record in 800xA automation projects in an industrial context.

Responsibilities

• Lead global development and standardization of the 800xA solution, including hardware and applications.
• Create an automation roadmap for selected sites within DCS.
• Develop best practice architecture to enhance scalability worldwide.
• Serve as the DCS anchor for site-based automation activities, including modernization and migration plans.
• Establish greenfield DCS standards and technologies for upcoming projects.
