Senior Principal .NET Developer

Job summary

We are looking for a Senior Principal Developer with extensive technical expertise to shape modern, scalable systems within a critical post-trading environment. This role involves significant collaboration with senior developers and mentoring engineers while influencing architectural direction.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of building and evolving critical systems, contributing to long-term architectural direction.
• Develop scalable, high-performance solutions using C#/.NET and .NET Core.
• Design and maintain RESTful and gRPC APIs with clear, business-aligned contracts.
• Work across event-driven and service-oriented architectures in a distributed environment.
• Maintain and optimize SQL Server databases, including performance-critical and legacy components.
• Drive the modernization of legacy systems towards loosely coupled, scalable architectures.
• Ensure high standards of reliability, correctness, observability, and performance in revenue-critical systems.
• Contribute to architecture decisions and engineering standards.
• Facilitate entity-based communication using Kafka.
• Take ownership of production systems, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident follow-up.

Qualifications

• 10–12 years of experience in software engineering.
• Deep expertise in C#/.NET and SQL programming.
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• Experience with Kafka or similar event streaming technologies is a plus.
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working close to production systems.
• Enjoy mentoring others and influencing technical direction across teams.
• Adaptable, curious, and motivated by continuous improvement.

Education

• Relevant degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred.
