Senior Infrastructure Consultant

Job summary

An experienced Senior Infrastructure Consultant is needed for a 12-month engagement focused on designing a secure and scalable build environment for a manufacturing client. The role involves both strategic architectural planning and hands-on technical execution to enhance the client's software delivery processes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in designing secure software delivery platforms.
• Extensive DevOps architecture experience.
• Strong background in secure CI/CD and build environments.
• Deep knowledge of build automation technologies and modern build pipelines.
• Experience with artifact repository management and secure software signing solutions.
• Hands-on integration experience with Hardware Security Modules (HSMs).
• Strong understanding of DevSecOps principles and secure software development practices.
• Ability to produce architecture documentation and implementation plans.
• Experience in facilitating workshops and knowledge transfer sessions.
• Excellent communication skills for engaging technical stakeholders and management.

Deliverables

• Assess the existing build infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and software signing processes.
• Identify security, operational, and scalability gaps in the current setup.
• Design a future-state build environment aligned with DevSecOps best practices.
• Define architecture for secure build pipelines and artifact repositories.
• Recommend suitable technologies and deployment models.
• Produce detailed solution proposals, including architecture diagrams and implementation roadmaps.
• Prepare cost estimates for implementation and licensing.
• Provide governance and operational process recommendations.
• Deliver technical workshops and knowledge transfer sessions.
• Familiarity with Secure Software Supply Chain (SLSA), Sigstore, Cosign, Software Bill of Materials (SBOM), and build provenance.
• Experience with cloud-native DevOps platforms and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible).
• Knowledge of enterprise Git platforms and CI/CD tooling.
• Assessment report of the current build environment.
• Target architecture and design documentation.
• Recommended solutions for build and artifact management.
• Secure software signing architecture with HSM integration.
• Implementation roadmap and cost estimates.
• Knowledge transfer sessions and supporting documentation.
