Senior Hardware Design Engineer (Electrical Industry, Onsite)

Job summary

Seeking a Senior Hardware Development Engineer to design electro-mechanical enclosure systems for the electrical sector. This role involves collaboration with a skilled team to implement new product development projects and engage with customers to deliver high-quality technical solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience
• Minimum of five years of relevant experience
• Proficiency with 3D CAD tools (e.g., PTC Creo / Pro‑Engineer)
• Working knowledge of electrical power systems and circuit protection
• Basic understanding of engineering materials, including sheet metal, copper, and engineering polymers

Responsibilities

• Design electro-mechanical enclosure systems for the electrical industry
• Review and enhance existing product portfolio
• Develop products following required development processes and improvements
• Collaborate with Product and Business Management to design solutions for specific projects or market segments
• Conduct prototype validation testing and product qualification testing, ensuring adherence to schedules and resolving issues
• Work with international standardization and approval bodies, including IEC and UL
• Assist manufacturing and field service teams in resolving product performance and system design issues
• Complete design and implementation documentation as per Common Development Processes

Skills

• Experience applying Design for Six Sigma principles (Greenbelt certification preferred)
• Knowledge of UL and IEC standards for Low Voltage Switchgear and Control gear
• Familiarity with thermal system analysis, focusing on heat transfer and cooling
• Understanding of shock and vibration design requirements
• Knowledge of injection molding, metal fabrication, material science, and tolerance analysis
• Experience with Competitive Analysis for new product requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering field; M.S. degree preferred

• 3D CAD software (e.g., PTC Creo / Pro‑Engineer)
