Job summary

A highly skilled Geotechnical Engineer is sought to enhance the offshore wind sector by supporting and improving geotechnical data acquisition, interpretation, and reporting. The role involves collaboration within a globally distributed team, requiring occasional travel.

Qualifications

• MSc or equivalent in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related geoscience discipline. Chartered status or working towards it is preferred.
• Offshore geotechnical experience, particularly in wind farm projects involving HDDs, cables, and foundation design.
• Proficient in communicating findings to various stakeholders and developing project geo risk registers.
• Familiarity with international standards and ASTM requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and improvement of offshore geotechnical data processes.
• Prepare specifications and assess technical tenders, ensuring high-quality data delivery.
• Manage projects to ensure timely completion and delivery.
• Conduct quality control of diverse geotechnical datasets.
• Engage in research and development of geotechnical tools and their integration with structural teams.
• Analyze bid data and implement machine learning or AI models.
• Oversee pile driving monitoring and data management.

Skills

• Advanced knowledge of geotechnical statistical models, including Bayesian frameworks and machine learning.
• Experience in seismic geotechnical engineering, PSHA, SSRA, and liquefaction assessment.
• Proficient in geotechnical software tools and programming/scripting.
• Familiarity with pile monitoring systems and signal matching.

Education

• MSc or equivalent in a relevant field.

Tools

• Geotechnical software tools, SQL datasets, and cloud-based solutions are advantageous.
