About the role

Job summary

The Senior Enterprise Architect will be responsible for defining and governing the enterprise architecture for a global engineering company, ensuring alignment between technology investments and business strategy while preparing for advancements in AI and digital manufacturing.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Extensive experience in Enterprise Architecture, Solution Architecture, Software Architecture, or Software Engineering.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise applications, system integrations, APIs, and complex business systems.
  • Experience with enterprise platforms, cloud technologies, data architecture, and software development practices.
  • Knowledge of information security principles and enterprise architecture governance.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of engaging both technical and business audiences.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with pragmatic decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Define, maintain, and communicate the enterprise architecture and technology roadmap.
  • Translate business strategy into practical technology solutions and architectural direction.
  • Develop and maintain an overview of the application landscape, including enterprise, in-house, and third-party solutions.
  • Ensure applications, integrations, and data flows support end-to-end business processes.
  • Establish architecture principles, technical standards, and governance practices.
  • Assess the architectural impact of strategic projects and technology investments.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, consolidate, and modernize the application portfolio.
  • Evaluate Build vs. Buy vs. Reuse decisions for new technology solutions.
  • Partner with IT Security to ensure security is embedded throughout solution design.
  • Define data architecture principles and governance practices that support reporting, analytics, and AI initiatives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, software development teams, vendors, and project teams to deliver integrated technology solutions.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend opportunities that create measurable business value.

Skills

  • Knowledge of ERP, MES, CPQ, Smart Factory, or digital transformation initiatives is preferred.
  • Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or similar is advantageous.
  • Understanding of modern data platforms, analytics, AI, and data governance principles is a plus.

Tools

  • Experience with various enterprise platforms and cloud technologies.
