Senior Engineer (Financial Services)

Job summary

This role involves taking ownership of the architecture and delivery of complex financial systems within a fast-paced environment. The Senior Engineer will work on redesigning the financial backbone, enabling EU expansion, and improving payment flows.

Qualifications

• Extensive backend engineering experience with production systems at scale, preferably in Java/Kotlin.
• Familiarity with financial systems such as billing, invoicing, and payment processing.
• Proven track record of leading technical design across multiple teams.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build a new invoicing system to support multiple billing models.
• Develop compliance infrastructure for e-invoicing and VAT to facilitate market entry.
• Enhance reliability and scalability of payment processing and reconciliation systems.
• Collaborate with Finance, Legal, Revenue Operations, and Product teams.
• Make architecture decisions ensuring traceability and correctness of financial transactions.
• Contribute to team growth through code reviews and knowledge sharing.
