About the role

Job summary

This role involves leading the development and management of a global supply base to enhance innovation and growth. The Senior Director will be responsible for creating strategies that ensure supplier performance aligns with business objectives and supports a resilient supply chain.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
  • Over 10 years of experience in supplier development or supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing global teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of supply chain management and procurement processes, preferably in manufacturing, automotive, technology, or consumer goods.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a global supplier development strategy.
  • Lead supplier performance management efforts, including setting expectations and conducting performance reviews.
  • Conduct regular supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies like Lean and Six Sigma.
  • Identify and mitigate risks in the global supply chain.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align supplier development with business objectives.
  • Foster supplier innovation and technological advancements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
  • Partner with procurement and finance to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Provide training and development opportunities for suppliers.
  • Lead a global team of supplier development professionals.
