Senior Design Engineer (Fintech, Copenhagen)

Job summary

This role involves shaping the technical future of a design system within a fintech environment, focusing on the integration of design and engineering through advanced coding and scalable frameworks. The position requires a high level of autonomy and expertise in evolving design systems that support global trading platforms.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in front-end engineering, particularly with React, TypeScript/JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and Storybook.
• Strong knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG, semantic HTML) and familiarity with frameworks like React Aria.
• Proficiency in Figma, including advanced components and translating design structures into reusable code.
• Experience in creating performant animations and micro-interactions.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving, especially in workflow automation and tool development.
• Experience in addressing complex technical challenges within design systems or UI engineering.
• Interest or experience in AI applications within design and engineering workflows.

Responsibilities

• Evolve the technical architecture of the design system for scalability and maintainability.
• Contribute production-grade code to the component library and documentation infrastructure.
• Prototype and validate UI patterns in collaboration with UI engineering.
• Ensure high-quality translation from Figma to code, focusing on pixel accuracy and accessibility.
• Develop advanced animations and transitions that align with brand standards.
• Optimize design-to-development pipelines by creating internal tools and CI workflows.
• Work on AI-driven initiatives, including generative code and automated workflows.
• Maintain clear documentation for patterns and components to facilitate adoption.
• Collaborate with designers and developers to uphold engineering excellence.
