Senior Data & AI Platform Engineer (Remote)

Job summary

This role focuses on the development and enhancement of a modern data platform, emphasizing AI integration and data governance during a critical scaling phase. The engineer will lead the migration from legacy systems to a governed Microsoft Fabric platform, ensuring the reliability of business-critical data and analytics.

Qualifications

• Over 6 years of experience in data warehousing, analytics engineering, or data platform engineering, preferably in SaaS, fintech, or e-commerce sectors.
• Strong expertise in Microsoft Fabric or deep experience with Azure Synapse / Databricks.
• Proficient in SQL/T-SQL and Python or PySpark, with a proven track record in building ELT/ETL pipelines.
• Extensive experience with Power BI and DAX, including semantic modeling and performance tuning.
• Demonstrated experience in leading data platform migrations and managing production data systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and governance of the Microsoft Fabric platform, including data pipelines and semantic models.
• Drive the migration process from legacy reporting tools to a modern semantic layer, ensuring stakeholder engagement and validation.
• Enhance data pipelines and establish robust monitoring and incident response protocols.
• Utilize AI and automation to streamline ETL/ELT processes and improve data quality management.
• Design and implement high-quality Power BI models for various business functions.
• Mentor junior engineers and analysts, translating complex data needs into actionable technical solutions.

Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on operational resilience and documentation.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including executives and technical teams.
• Experience with Git-based workflows and data engineering standards.

Education

• Relevant degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field is preferred.
