Senior Corporate Counsel (Ecommerce, Remote)

Job summary

This role involves providing legal advice and coordinating legal work for a global direct-to-consumer retail ecommerce business, focusing on consumer protection, marketing, privacy, and related legal areas.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor or equivalent law degree (LL.M preferred)
• Qualification as an Attorney-At-Law (if applicable)
• 5-8 years of international legal experience in-house or in private practice, particularly in consumer protection and ecommerce law
• Experience in ICT, digital technologies, and emerging technologies is advantageous

Responsibilities

• Offer global legal counsel to business stakeholders in ecommerce, addressing consumer protection and privacy issues
• Support colleagues in various business and regulatory matters of medium to high complexity
• Manage legal risks and improve legal processes and agreements
• Draft, negotiate, and approve commercial contracts and policies in digital and general commercial areas
• Work independently as a subject matter expert and mentor others

• Good understanding of commercial, intellectual property, and competition laws
• Legal curiosity and willingness to learn new skills

Education

• Law degree (LL.M or equivalent) required
