Senior Cable Specialist (Energy, Remote)

Job summary

This role involves working within the Power Systems department, focusing on innovative engineering design projects in the energy transition sector, particularly offshore wind and carbon capture initiatives. The Senior Cable Specialist will engage in various phases of project delivery, from feasibility studies to detailed engineering.

Qualifications

• University degree in Electrical Engineering
• Over 5 years of experience in submarine or onshore HV cable system design (66KV to 400KV)
• Proficiency in cable rating software such as Cymcap
• Familiarity with international and local cable standards
• Fluent in English; knowledge of local languages is advantageous
• Experience in cable installation and civil works is a plus

Responsibilities

• Review tender documents and draft proposals covering technical and commercial aspects
• Prepare technical reports based on project documentation
• Participate in internal and client meetings
• Collaborate with various departments to prepare design basis
• Conduct cable rating and thermal calculations for submarine and onshore cables
• Lead cable projects, including submarine and onshore scopes
• Assess interfaces with transition joint bays, substations, and civil works
• Conduct inspections at cable manufacturing sites and during installation, which may require international travel
