Senior AI-Native Data Platform Engineer (Copenhagen)

Job summary

This role involves tackling significant data platform challenges for a major global jewelry company, focusing on governance solutions and metadata layers. The position requires designing and implementing data governance APIs, enhancing automation with AI, and managing access control models.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with AI-native methodologies, utilizing coding agents effectively.
• Strong testing mindset, applying rigorous evaluation for LLM-powered features.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Unity Catalog, including metastore architecture and access control.
• Familiarity with Confluent Schema Registry and its compatibility rules.
• Solid foundation in software engineering practices, including API design and CI/CD.
• Proficient in Python, shell scripting, and Terraform.
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and business audiences.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Data Governance APIs for enterprise data registration and validation.
• Create AI-driven governance automation for data classification and compliance.
• Implement access management models for data ownership and control.
• Automate configuration management for Unity Catalog and Schema Registry.
• Maintain and enhance the OpenMetadata data catalog with custom pipelines and API integrations.
• Track and report on governance adoption metrics to assess success.

Skills

• Deep understanding of Unity Catalog and Confluent Schema Registry.
• Experience with OpenMetadata or similar data catalogs is a plus.
• Familiarity with Delta Lake internals is advantageous.

Education

• Relevant degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field is preferred.
