Senior AI Engineer (On-site, Berlin)

Job summary

The role involves building and maintaining components of an AI-native software development lifecycle (SDLC) platform, working closely with product engineering teams to ensure seamless integration and adoption of AI-native workflows.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years of software engineering experience with a focus on production systems.
• Expertise in AI-native engineering, including agents, tool usage, and multi-step workflows.
• Experience with evaluation and observability frameworks for non-deterministic systems.
• Familiarity with product engineering workflows such as code review and CI/CD.
• Strong collaborative mindset and delivery orientation.
• Excellent technical communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain platform components, ensuring production quality and lifecycle management.
• Write production code for various platform elements, including agent infrastructure and tooling integrations.
• Collaborate with product engineering teams to introduce AI-native workflows and address challenges.
• Create working examples in repositories to facilitate the adoption of new patterns.
• Implement evaluation harnesses and observability for agent behavior.
• Contribute to engineering standards and evaluate new tools and models.

Skills

• Strong production engineering fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience with frontier tools and frameworks.
• Background in Developer Experience or Platform Engineering is a plus.
• Awareness of security concerns related to AI systems.

Education

• Relevant degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.

Tools

• Familiarity with tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, and LangGraph is advantageous.
