SCADA Engineer (Utilities, Remote)

Job summary

This role involves designing and implementing SCADA systems and network solutions within the utility sector, focusing on substations and TSO interfaces. The position requires participation in complex national and international projects, contributing expertise in SCADA system design, substation automation, network architecture, and cyber security.

Qualifications

• Engineering background with experience in SCADA, SRO, and network systems, particularly IEC 61850-based substation automation.
• Familiarity with standards and legislation related to SCADA/ICS/DCS and networks, such as IEC 62443, NIS2, IEC 61508, ISO/IEC 27001.
• Practical knowledge of converter technologies like STATCOM and HVDC systems.
• Strong understanding of network principles and cyber security for critical infrastructure.
• Experience with tendering processes, specifications, and technical evaluations.
• Relevant professional experience from consulting, utilities, OEMs, or system suppliers is preferred.
• Fluent in English; experience in multilingual European project environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop initial concepts, including hardware and protocol selection, cost estimates, and tender materials for SCADA and network solutions.
• Design SCADA systems for tenders and network solutions, ensuring integration with other systems.
• Implement and advise on cyber security measures in SCADA and network design.
• Manage interfaces and conduct supervision and commissioning of projects.

Education

• Degree in Engineering or a related field.
