Job summary

The role involves conducting experiments to enhance the biological understanding of peptide-based drug candidates related to metabolism and obesity. The position focuses on developing in vitro biological models and facilitating insights into tissue-specific mechanisms of action through cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

  • PhD or MSc with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Biochemistry, Pharmacology, In Vitro Biology, or a related field
  • Scientific expertise in metabolism and/or obesity biology
  • Experience in drug discovery and/or drug development projects
  • Extensive knowledge of in vitro/ex vivo biological models, including primary cells and cell-based assays
  • Familiarity with G-protein coupled receptor (GPCR) pharmacology is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Develop and define in vitro biological models pertinent to obesity pharmacology
  • Conduct in vitro disease-model studies to characterize molecular candidates and assist in the data-driven selection of lead compounds
  • Analyze and interpret complex data related to pharmacology profiling and cell biology
  • Ensure robust study design, documentation, and clear data packages for efficient decision-making and transitions to in vivo evaluation

Skills

  • Strong collaborative and communication skills
  • Ability to stay updated with disease-relevant science and engage in scientific discussions
  • Hands-on experience in building in vitro disease models to explore mechanism-of-action questions

Education

  • PhD or MSc in a relevant scientific discipline

Tools

  • Experience with cellular assays and data analysis tools relevant to pharmacology and biology
