Job summary

The role involves contributing to research in damage modeling of large-scale composite structures, focusing on developing predictive numerical tools for structural integrity assessment.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in engineering or equivalent.
  • Strong background in finite element analysis (FEA), preferably in composite materials and structures.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB and/or Python for scientific computing and tool development.
  • Familiarity with web scraping techniques for data acquisition.
  • Experience with GUI development is advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently and enjoy problem-solving in a research environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement advanced finite element (FE) models for composite structures.
  • Apply scientific programming in MATLAB and/or Python for model development and automation.
  • Develop web scraping techniques to collect and structure engineering or materials data from public databases.
  • Create simple graphical user interfaces (GUI) for research tools and workflows.
  • Document results and contribute to scientific publications and internal reports.
