Quality Engineer (Remote, Software Development)

Job summary

This role involves building testing capabilities and quality assurance practices from the ground up, focusing on establishing best practices and standards for delivering quality software. The Quality Engineer will influence the testing strategy and implement automated test suites across web applications and APIs.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with end-to-end test automation using frameworks like Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress.
• Strong knowledge of API testing approaches for REST services.
• Proven experience in building test infrastructure and automation frameworks.
• Familiarity with CI/CD processes, particularly integrating automated tests into Azure DevOps.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop automated end-to-end test suites for web applications and APIs.
• Establish testing standards and best practices across development teams.
• Implement a comprehensive regression testing strategy to ensure release confidence.
• Optimize testing efforts by making strategic decisions on automation versus manual testing.
• Ensure quality during customer migrations to new platforms, including data validation.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for rapid feedback.
• Collaborate with development teams as a QA partner and mentor engineers on testing practices.

Skills

• Strong programming and scripting skills, particularly in C#/.NET.
• Solid understanding of web application architecture and modern web technologies.
• Proficiency with Git and experience in agile development environments.
• Hands-on experience with load and performance testing tools.

Education

• Relevant degree or equivalent experience in software engineering or a related field.

Tools

• Familiarity with testing frameworks, CI/CD tools, and performance testing platforms.
