Job summary

This internship offers an opportunity for students passionate about innovation and play to engage in early-stage ideation, concept development, and prototyping within a creative environment. Interns will work collaboratively to transform concepts into tangible prototypes while gaining hands-on experience in a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

  • Must be a student for the entire duration of the internship.
  • Expected to graduate after December 31, 2026.
  • Internship must contribute to course credit and be a compulsory part of education.
  • Available from September 1, 2026, to December 31, 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Learn from machining experts in a workshop setting.
  • Create prototypes based on various briefs.
  • Assemble and finalize prototypes for play testing.
  • Collaborate with creative teams to develop manufacturable prototypes.

Skills

  • Curiosity and a desire to explore new ideas.
  • Bravery to engage with diverse perspectives and provide feedback.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and focus on high-priority tasks.
  • A maker mindset, eager to work with tools and machinery.

Education

  • Enrollment in a relevant educational program that requires internship experience.

Tools

  • Familiarity with machine workshop tools (e.g., lathe, drills).
  • Skills in woodwork, sketching, painting, sculpture, graphic design, LEGO model building, textiles, 3D CAD programs, and videography/editing.
