Job summary

The role involves managing materials for a mechanical engineering project, ensuring efficient logistics and compliance with safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in stores management is preferred.
  • Familiarity with mechanical processes, particularly pipes and fittings, is a significant advantage.
  • Candidates must possess the necessary work permits for employment.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and inspect plant and machinery, verifying quantities against packing slips and purchase orders.
  • Update inventory records using computerized software.
  • Scan and file delivery documentation.
  • Report any discrepancies such as overages, shortages, or damages to the purchasing team.
  • Maintain the Plant Schedule by matching tag numbers with storage locations.
  • Communicate daily with field supervisors and engineers to ensure material availability aligns with project timelines.
  • Ensure proper sign-off for delivered items at the site.
  • Keep organized records of all material request forms signed upon receipt.
  • Oversee project logistics from suppliers to transportation and offloading on-site.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable EHS standards during material transport and offloading.
  • Organize and monitor material storage and distribution across the project site.
  • Provide weekly reports to the purchasing team on materials received.

Skills

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software.

Education

  • Relevant experience in material control or logistics management is essential.
