Principal Software Engineer (Remote)

Job summary

A Principal Software Engineer is sought to develop a next-generation Load Balancer utilizing eBPF technology. This role involves driving the architecture and development of a standalone load balancer aimed at scalable and secure traffic management in cloud and hybrid environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Over 5 years of experience in developing load balancing software, preferably using Go
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Cloud Native workloads, and distributed systems

Responsibilities

• Define and enhance the architecture of the enterprise-grade load balancer
• Lead the design and development of the load balancer’s data plane, control plane, and orchestration tools
• Guide the team in technical decisions, design reviews, and performance/security optimizations
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and customer teams to align technical direction with business objectives
• Uphold engineering best practices, code quality, and operational excellence

Skills

• Knowledge of Linux systems design, security, and networking
• Ability to write high-quality and efficient code
• Experience in designing and implementing APIs
• A public track record of open-source code contributions is advantageous

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related fields
