Principal Process Engineer (Life Sciences)

Job summary

The role involves leading process design activities in the Life Sciences sector, focusing on front-end engineering during the initial phases of project development. This includes conducting feasibility studies, concept design, and creating early/basic design packages. The position requires strong client-facing communication skills and the ability to represent the organization in early project engagements.

Qualifications

• Accredited four-year engineering degree or global equivalent.
• Approximately 17-20 years of relevant experience.
• Substantial experience in the Life Sciences sector is mandatory.
• Proven experience in front-end engineering, including feasibility, concept, and basic design.
• Strong client-facing communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Analytical mindset for solving complex design challenges.
• Strong technical and business writing skills.
• Understanding of engineering, procurement, equipment design, construction, commissioning, and project interfaces.
• Knowledge of the Danish Life Science market.
• Fluency in English and a valid work permit in the EU.

Responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Lead process design activities for Life Sciences projects, including biotech, pharma, and API.
• Act as the primary technical interface with clients during early project phases.
• Develop process flow diagrams and integrated equipment layouts.
• Collaborate with architects and multi-discipline teams to size and position equipment.
• Analyze design challenges and recommend solutions.
• Support business development and contribute to securing new projects.
• Plan and execute process engineering tasks per project scope.
• Assist in estimating, equipment pricing, and proposal development.
• Share best practices in chemical/process engineering across the organization.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary teams across project phases.
• Strong network within the Life Sciences engineering community.
