Job summary

This role involves working as a Powerplants and Generators Specialist within the Power Systems Department, focusing on the design and engineering of power plants and generating systems. The position supports large infrastructure projects aimed at contributing to the green transition.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in the design of power plants and power generating systems, particularly synchronous condensers.
  • Familiarity with high voltage (HV) projects, specifically 132, 150, and 400 kV systems.
  • Experience with both greenfield and brownfield projects.
  • Consulting experience on large-scale power projects with a strong client-facing focus.
  • Desirable experience with gas-fired power plants.
  • Proficiency in English and an additional European language.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed engineering design for synchronous machines and condensers, including excitation systems and protection.
  • Develop interface definitions and specifications for synchronous machines and grid connections, ensuring compliance with grid codes and regulations.
  • Create tender specifications and perform technical evaluations for power generation equipment.
  • Analyze system performance metrics such as reactive power and voltage control, recommending improvements as necessary.
  • Collaborate with civil, electrical, control, and grid-connection teams to ensure effective integration of systems.

  • Strong analytical skills for performance evaluation and system improvement recommendations.
  • Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration.

Education

  • Relevant degree in engineering or a related field.

Tools

  • Familiarity with engineering design software and tools used in power systems engineering.
