Qualifications

  • PhD degree in physics, engineering, computer science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in micromagnetic modeling and magnetism.
  • Proficiency in Fortran or high-performance numerical methods.
  • Experience in writing and publishing scientific articles.
  • Strong ability to work independently and manage complex tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize the open-source micromagnetic model MagTense for modeling tasks.
  • Research and determine the ideal microstructure of the rare-earth-free permanent magnet, including grain size, shape, and composition.
  • Collaborate with postdocs from other departments to iterate on the synthesis of the magnet.

Skills

  • Expertise in micromagnetic modeling techniques.
  • Familiarity with CUDA for parallel computation.
  • Competence in using Matlab and Python for modeling tasks.

Education

  • A PhD degree (or equivalent) is required for this position.
