Postdoctoral Researcher in Material Flow Analysis and Resource Management

Job summary

This position focuses on the quantitative assessment of material and resource systems, emphasizing material stocks and flows, resource use, waste management, and recycling. Qualifications

• PhD in environmental engineering, industrial ecology, environmental science, or a related field
• Strong experience with material flow analysis, life cycle assessment, and scenario analysis
• Excellent quantitative and analytical skills
• Proven publication record in relevant international journals
• Experience in international research collaboration
• Proficient in written and spoken English
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research team
• Experience with plastics, phosphorus, critical raw materials, or related resource systems is advantageous

Responsibilities

Research environment

The role is situated within a collaborative research environment at the Department of Green Technology, focusing on interdisciplinary research related to industrial ecology, circular economy, and energy system optimization. Opportunities for collaboration with external partners and participation in international conferences are available.

Employment terms

The position is initially offered for one year, with the possibility of extension based on funding. The preferred start date is from 15 October 2026.
