Job summary

This PhD position focuses on investigating the mechanisms of food allergen uptake and transport through the skin, contributing to research aimed at preventing food allergy skin sensitisation. The role involves hands-on research in optical imaging and immunology.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree (or equivalent) in allergology, immunology, biology, biochemistry, biomedicine, molecular biology, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of immunology and food allergy.
  • Knowledge of protein chemistry.
  • Experience with in vivo experiments and optical imaging techniques.
  • Familiarity with immunological analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in vivo animal experiments to study protein uptake through the skin barrier.
  • Design and perform ex vivo immunological analyses.
  • Utilize various optical imaging techniques for research purposes.
  • Collaborate with experienced researchers and supervise student projects.
  • Participate in scientific dissemination and publication efforts.

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, with proficiency in written and spoken English.

Education

  • A two-year master's degree (120 ECTS points) or equivalent academic level.
