Qualifications

  • A two-year master's degree (120 ECTS points) or equivalent academic level.
  • Recent graduates or individuals with industry experience and a strong interest in research.
  • Ability to conduct experimental laboratory work and formulation tasks; experience with coatings is a plus.
  • High performance, visionary mindset, and a collaborative spirit.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on coating formulation and production principles to optimize resource use and reduce waste.
  • Develop fouling control coatings to prevent biofouling without toxic materials.
  • Research anti-corrosive coatings to protect structures from corrosion.
  • Investigate intumescent coatings for fire protection of steel structures.
  • Explore functional coatings with special properties, such as catalytic and insulation functions.
  • Work on sustainable raw materials to reduce carbon footprints in coatings.
  • Study waste recycling methods for coating production and usage.
  • Create reliable test methods for optimizing coating performance using mathematical models and AI.

Education

  • Candidates must possess a master's degree or equivalent.

Tools

  • Research will involve classical chemical engineering tools, mathematical modeling, and AI for optimization.
