Job summary

This PhD scholarship focuses on the development of advanced thin-film solar cells through the integration of various nanomaterials. The role involves hands-on research in materials synthesis, thin-film deposition, and device testing within an international research environment.

Qualifications

  • A two-year master's degree (120 ECTS points) or equivalent in materials science, materials chemistry, nanotechnology, or a closely related field.
  • Strong background in experimental materials research.
  • Proficiency in planning, conducting, and documenting laboratory work independently.
  • Good written and spoken English skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize a multidimensional thin-film solar-cell architecture.
  • Synthesize and deposit quantum-dot seed layers using solution-based methods.
  • Grow and optimize Sb₂X₃ absorber thin films.
  • Integrate ultrathin MoX₂ layers for interface passivation.
  • Characterize materials using various methods (XPS, PL, Raman, AFM, XRD, SEM, EDX, UV-vis-NIR).
  • Fabricate and test thin-film solar-cell devices (JV, EQE, CV, AS).
  • Investigate device uniformity, reproducibility, and scale-up.
  • Collaborate with national and international partners.

Skills

Education

  • Master's degree in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field.

Tools

  • Experience with characterization techniques and synthesis methods relevant to nanomaterials and thin films.
