Job summary

This position involves conducting research on large-scale energy storage technologies, focusing on the development of advanced Compressed Air Energy Storage (CAES) methods and models. The role is part of a European project aimed at enhancing grid-scale energy storage solutions.

Qualifications

  • A two-year master's degree (120 ECTS points) or equivalent academic level.

Responsibilities

  • Design the CAES concept with detailed technical specifications and operational setpoints.
  • Develop a multiobjective optimization framework to optimize sizing and interactions for CAES and other energy storage systems under uncertainty.
  • Create dynamic models to analyze system resilience and effectiveness during various operational states.
  • Conduct techno-economic assessments and benchmark against competing technologies.

Skills

  • Proficiency in modeling tools such as Matlab, Dymola, and EES.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in energy systems.

Education

  • A master's degree in a relevant field is required.
