This PhD position focuses on developing innovative data-driven methods for diagnosing and treating Parkinson's disease, in collaboration with leading researchers and clinical partners. The role is based at a technical university and involves a research stay at a partner institution.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Robotics, Automation, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Background in control systems, signal processing, or computational modeling.
  • Experience with machine learning and programming in Python, MATLAB, or similar.
  • Strong analytical skills and interest in research.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team.
  • Proficient communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze multimodal physiological and movement data.
  • Develop computational models for pathological motor dynamics.
  • Design algorithms for state estimation of hidden disease states.
  • Collaborate with clinical and academic partners.
  • Present findings through publications and at international conferences.

Education

  • A two-year master's degree (120 ECTS points) or equivalent academic level is required.

Tools

  • Python, MATLAB, and other relevant programming tools.
