Job summary

This position involves conducting research on the microbial ecology of coffee fermentation and its impact on flavor development. The candidate will engage in both ethnographic studies and systems biology, collaborating with local coffee producers and academic institutions.

Qualifications

  • A two-year master's degree (120 ECTS points) or equivalent.
  • Some experience in microbiology.
  • Interest or experience in ethnographic research.
  • Familiarity with metagenomic and metabolomic data generation and analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the scientific progress of the project, including planning and executing experiments.
  • Conduct ethnographic research related to coffee fermentation.
  • Analyze metagenomics, metabolomics, and sensory data.
  • Visualize results and communicate findings to various scientific audiences.
  • Publish research in international journals and present at conferences.
  • Engage in public outreach activities and collaborate across disciplines.
