Job summary

This PhD position focuses on modeling and optimizing highly viscous bioprocesses, particularly in the context of enzyme production with high cell density and titer. The research will be conducted at a leading technical university, emphasizing both experimental and theoretical work in bioprocess engineering.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in (bio)chemical engineering, process engineering, bioengineering, biotechnology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or a related field.
  • Interest in both experimental laboratory work and theoretical modeling.
  • Experience with microbial cultivation and analytics is advantageous.
  • Strong numerical programming skills are preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Model the influence of process parameters on viscosity in bioprocesses.
  • Conduct experimental work in a pilot plant setting.
  • Collaborate with an industrial partner and engage in knowledge sharing within the project team.
