Electronics Engineer (Remote, Engineering)

Job summary

This role involves the design, development, and testing of advanced electronic systems for photonics products, focusing on laser technologies used in various applications such as quantum computing and medical research.

Qualifications

• Experience in electronic test development for laser products.
• Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, SQL, and C.
• Knowledge of version control systems like Git.
• Understanding of communication protocols including RS-485 and serial communication.
• Basic knowledge of mechatronic systems and 3D design for parts.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior engineers and the R&D group to develop testing platforms and methods.
• Take ownership of test work packages within product development projects, ensuring timely delivery.
• Design and implement innovative test concepts and support manufacturing of existing products.
• Work closely with experts in optics and mechanics to enhance system designs.
• Participate in repair team activities, including diagnosis and documentation of issues.

Skills

• Proficient in schematic design and PCB layout using Altium Designer.
• Ability to interpret datasheets and select appropriate components.
• Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken.

Education

• Relevant degree in Electronics Engineering or a related field is preferred.

Tools

• Altium Designer for schematic and PCB design.
• Command-line tools for development workflows.
