Network Engineering Lead (Telecommunications, Copenhagen)

Job summary

The Network Engineering Lead will be responsible for the strategy, architecture, and daily operations of networking platforms across multiple data centers and public cloud environments. This role emphasizes an automation-first, network-as-code approach to enhance connectivity for critical business services.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in both on-prem and hybrid/multi-cloud network environments.
• Advanced understanding of routing and switching protocols including BGP, EVPN, VXLAN, and MPLS.
• Proficient in scripting and automation languages such as Python, Bash, Terraform, and Ansible.
• Experience with network observability and telemetry tools.
• Ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels.

Responsibilities

• Design and manage resilient, scalable, and secure network topologies.
• Implement network-as-code pipelines for design, provisioning, change control, and incident response.
• Architect data-center fabrics and WAN topologies using modern protocols.
• Integrate networking into CI/CD and GitOps workflows.
• Build network observability and telemetry for performance and security.
• Enable self-service network capabilities for internal users via APIs.
• Promote a DevOps culture and automation-first operating model.

Skills

• Hands-on experience with network automation tools and commitment to network-as-code.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes networking and service-mesh concepts.
• Experience working with distributed teams and aligning communication across time zones.

Education

• Relevant technical degree or equivalent experience in network engineering or related fields.

Tools

• Terraform, Ansible, Python, NAPALM, Batfish, and other network automation tools.
