Job summary

The role involves advancing network automation within a major service provider's infrastructure, focusing on both current systems and future platform evolution.

Qualifications

  • In-depth knowledge of IP networking in service-provider settings, including MPLS, BGP, L2/L3 VPN, EVPN, QoS, multicast, and multi-vendor operations.
  • Experience in software engineering with languages such as PHP, Java, or Python, and familiarity with REST APIs and data formats like JSON, XML, and YANG.
  • Practical experience with automation and orchestration tools, such as Cisco NSO, Ansible, and Netconf/YANG.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across departments, particularly between Network Engineering, IT, and Operations.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills for translating business and technical requirements.
  • Experience with OSS/BSS integration and service provisioning models.
  • Problem-solving skills and experience in lab-to-production workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the evaluation and implementation of commercial automation/orchestration products, ensuring alignment with various stakeholders.
  • Maintain and enhance the existing mediation layer codebase for stability and support of new services.
  • Translate business logic into network automation workflows and vice versa.
  • Provide documentation, coding standards, and best practices for automation.
  • Assist the IP Networks engineering team in integrating new technologies into the provisioning stack.

Education

  • Relevant degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Tools

  • Familiarity with Cisco, Juniper, and Nokia platforms, as well as automation/orchestration technologies.
