ML Research Engineer / Scientist (Remote)

Job summary

This role involves conducting research and development of machine learning models focused on interpreting complete CT studies in medical imaging. The position is fully remote and aims to bridge the gap between experimental research and clinical application.

Qualifications

• Strong practical experience with modern machine learning and deep learning, particularly using PyTorch.
• Deep understanding of machine learning architectures, objectives, and optimization strategies.
• Ability to independently formulate hypotheses and design experiments.
• Experience with large-scale datasets and distributed training environments is valuable.
• Strong interest in solving complex problems with real-world implications.
• Familiarity with medical imaging, 3D computer vision, or volumetric data is advantageous.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, train, and evaluate machine learning models for CT studies.
• Research foundation-model approaches for medical imaging.
• Develop vision-language models connecting medical images with radiological terminology.
• Conduct independent experiments and analyze model performance rigorously.
• Collaborate with radiologists to translate research findings into practical improvements.
• Take ownership of research projects and make informed decisions on experiments.

Skills

• Proficiency in modern deep learning frameworks, particularly PyTorch.
• Strong understanding of rigorous experimentation and model validation.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment with researchers and engineers.

Education

• A PhD or strong academic research background is a plus, but not required.
