Job summary

The role focuses on enhancing the inorganic growth strategy through the management of a mergers and acquisitions (M&A) pipeline. Responsibilities include identifying and evaluating acquisition opportunities that align with strategic objectives, collaborating with executive leadership, and ensuring a consistent flow of qualified targets to support long-term growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Finance, Business, Strategy, or a related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Over 5 years of progressive experience in the specialty chemicals, polymers, plastics, manufacturing, or related industrial sectors.
  • Preferred experience in corporate strategy, management consulting, business development, engineering, product management, or corporate development.
  • M&A transaction experience is beneficial but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the VP of Corporate Development to manage the M&A target pipeline.
  • Identify and assess acquisition targets that align with growth priorities.
  • Develop company profiles, business cases, and recommendations for executive leadership.
  • Work with R&D, commercial, operations, and finance teams to validate target attractiveness.
  • Present analyses and recommendations during M&A reviews.
  • Initiate outreach and build relationships with target companies.
  • Support due diligence and strategic research for active transactions.
  • Monitor market trends, competitors, and emerging technologies.
  • Strong business judgment and strategic mindset.
  • Quick learner of complex industries and markets.
  • Highly analytical with attention to detail.
  • Results-oriented with a sense of urgency.
  • Excellent relationship-building and influencing skills.
  • Comfortable working in global, cross-functional teams.
  • Self-starter capable of working independently.
